Macramé Workshops with The Feral Knot

Want to learn the art of knotting?

Please join The Feral Knot for an evening of macramé. You will be provided with all of the materials needed to create your very own macramé wall hanging, plant hanger, chandlier or vintage styled owl! A variety of knotting techniques will be taught. You can decide to follow the pattern that will be provided or you can choose your own adventure after learning the knots.

In these 3 to 5 hour sessions, The Feral Knot will lead demonstrations, answer questions, and provide guidance throughout the process to see you through to completion! You will also learn about the history of macrame, as well as the therapeutic benefits of textile arts. By the end of the session, you will understand the major knots involved in macramé, basic design principles, and project planning.

The very best part is that you will have your very own handmade macramé design to take home to adorn your home!

Vintage Macrame Owl Workshop For Beginners

Saturday 2 March from 11:30am– 3:00pm

Come join us to create your very own beautiful macramé owl at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery
The Feral Knot's macramé owl is reminiscent of the vintage owl designs of the 70s, but with a contemporary twist. Macramé is making a huge comeback in modern décor, it is often seen in bohemian, mid-century, and scandinavian minimalist home design. We will be working with 100% natural cotton fibre, 3 strand twisted 3/16" undyed rope, wood beads, and Lake Huron driftwood. In this 3.5 hour session, Tanya of The Feral Knot will lead demonstrations, answer questions, and provide guidance throughout the process to see you through to completion. You will learn about the history of macramé, as well as the therapeutic benefits of textile arts. By the end of the session, you will understand the major knots involved in macramé project design and you will leave with a finished product that is ready to adorn your home.

This workshop is designed for beginners - No experience necessary
